Jackie and Dave Gebhard have volunteered to become Bar Co-ordinators. Thanks to them for coming forward; I am sure they will appreciate help so if you would like to pull a few pints now and again please get in touch. ON A SAD NOTE - Martin Peacock who had been Chair of local NE RYA for a number of years until last year, died recently. He has battled with hierarchy in Hamble, with his constant good humour, to get recognition of the NE Region. His biggest achievement in that way was to convince them that a single Development Officer for North West/North East/Yorkshire was just not a good idea. RYA Hamble "found" some extra funding to employ an extra Development Officer, so NE & Yorkshire now share Suzie Blair.
He was a member of DRSC for quite a number of years in the 60s and 70s & then went to Hartlepool. He was a huge support when the NSSA had its Annual Regatta at Derwent in 2001 and again at Bridlington in 2004. He has sailed Lasers, FFs and big boats. He will be sadly missed.
PLANS TO ALTER MENS/LADIES CHANGING/TOILET AREAS
For those of you who did not attend the AGM, Adam Vaughan, On-Shore Services Co-ordinator has drawn up plans to refurbish the above areas. These plans are displayed on the noticeboard for your information so please have a look and see what you think. There are forms to offer your comments.
