40TH ANNIVERSARY FUNDRAISING BONFIRE PARTY 3RD NOVEMBER 2007
It’s not just a firework display – it’s a whole lot of fun too! PLEASE SUPPORT IT.
This is a quick personal plea to help me make this event go with a bang! As you may or may not know, I am also Social Secretary and have organised a great night for you. All I need now is for you to come and enjoy yourselves – easy!
Tickets £5 (children free) are now on sale at the Galley. I hope you will take a bundle and get out there and sell them for me to family, friends and work colleagues, or at least buy some for yourself! We had a great night last year and raised £1200 – that’s the target to beat so I hope you will help. If you would like a poster to display at work let me know and I’ll send you one.
If you can’t make it then how about donating a raffle prize; the more donations the less I have to buy ie more funds for kitty! You can leave prizes with any Council member or at the galley or bar.
For the youngsters the day will start with JUNIOR AND YOUTH TRAINING sessions on the water with Barbara Darling.
Then at 5 pm there’s fun and games for the children – big children can join in too – remember those faces covered flour last year! We might manage a face painting competition too.
6 pm The Bonfire will be lit followed by Ian Nichol’s firework display and back inside with Children’s Lantern and Fancy dress parade and if they like, a children’s disco.
There will be hot dogs etc on sale at the Galley and the Bar will be open.
We have a fantastic band coming – ACOUSTIC BEATLES – great entertainers and nice guys – definitely dancing and singing – it’s hard not to sing along with Beatles songs! You can check out their website if you wish where there is lots of their music to listen to. www.acousticbeatles.co.uk Nibbles will be provided during the evening.
So let’s not make it A HARD DAY’S NIGHT and WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS you can buy a TICKET TO RIDE and I am sure WE CAN WORK IT OUT and break the fundraising record!!!!!!!!!!!!
