With over 185,000 boats worldwide, the Laser is one of the most successful single handed sailing dinghies. Its combination of simplicity and excitement give rise to close, exhilarating racing at all levels. Here at Derwent we have a large, active and friendly fleet covering a wide range of abilities from beginners to national level so there's always someone to sail with round the racecourse.
With so many Lasers around there's a wide range of boats on offer from secondhand boats at a couple of hundred pounds through to a brand new boat costing between £3500 and £4000.
We have regular fleets racing on both Wednesday evenings and Sundays, with participation in outside events encouraged. In the past we have arranged training sessions and visits by instructors if you are interested in further improving your sailing skills.
