Windsurfing at Derwent Reservoir welcomes windsurfers of all ages, genders and abilities. We have a good fleet of sailors ranging from beginners to those experts who master the challenging conditions we sometimes get, which tests those gybes!
There are plenty of people willing to help you rig sails or point you in the right direction in your development.
The wind generally is south/westerley which gives a good run across the reservoir where you can either tack, gybe or stop and beachstart to return!.
On the development side, we have recently been lucky enough to have a successful Awards for All Grant bid so we have been able to buy some up-to-day training kit which will can be used for children and adults alike up to intermediate level. This kit can also be hired by members and non-members (after demonstrating their competence).
