DRSC racing 2022

The sailing season has started. Hopefully you have all renewed your membership, fettled your boats and are ready to go racing. There were 12 out on Sunday for a windy start to the season but tomorrow looks gentle and warm. So what's keeping you!

Sunday racing

The morning racing starts at 11am prompt so realistically it helps to be down by 10.15 to be rigged, changed and ready. We are staring with the format of 2-3 races in the morning and 2 race in the afternoon starting at 2pm. If you would prefer to have more races in the morning and no afternoon series then we are open to suggestions. Please contact vicecommodore@drsc.co.uk if this would be your preferred option.

Wednesday Racing

This will start on April 6th at 7pm. One race starting from the crow's nest to club line. 2 starts fast and slow handicap.

Race officer duty.

As a member of DRSC your help is needed to help run the club for the enjoyment of all. Part of this is to do race officer duty if possible. We ask that all those who have participated in any racing (juniors and parents included) sign up on the duty roster for at least 1 Wednesday and 1 Sunday duty. Wednesday evening is run from the crow's nest and is automated so very straightforward. Sunday can run from the committee boat or the Crow's nest if the wind direction is suitable. If you are unsure what to do please ask one of us and we can show you the essentials. The committee boat will be set up with the flags needed and safety will help you with the course and start line setup.

You have until Wednesday 30th March to login to the website and sign up for your RO duties. After that we will be allocating your duties and it is then your responsibility to swap them if you are unavailable.

Food

The galley has been taken on by Jayne and she is producing great food. She asks that you pre-book before you go out racing if you can so that she has it ready for you to enjoy when you get in. Come and see for yourself.
