RYA Level 1 or 2 Dinghy Sailing Course

Level 1 Start Sailing - minimum age 16 course length 2 days or equivalent hours

Course Content How to sail in all directions, including an awareness of launching and recovering

Ability after the course - Able to sail in light winds under supervision.

Level 2 Basic Skills - minimum age 16 course length 2 days or equivalent hours

Assumed knowledge Level 1 standard

Course Content Rigging, launching, sailing in all directions. Capsize recovery and essential safety knowledge

Ability after the course -Able to sail and make decisions in good conditions

Please arrive at 09.45 am. We aim to start the training at 10.00 am on both days, weather permitting, with the day finishing at 5:00 pm.

We provide wetsuits, dinghy boots, buoyancy aids, however we are limited in sizes, so please bring a change of clothes/trainers and a towel and a cagoule if you have one. In, colder weather wear extra layers, a hat and gloves with grips on palms. Long hair needs to be tied back for safety reasons. If you wear glasses, please bring a chain/string to attach, so they don't fall overboard.
