RYA First Aid Course

Due to coronavirus restrictions places on this course are limited and will be prioritised to the Safety Team.

Session 1: Assessment, immediate actions and priorities of first aid; Unconciousness and the recovery position; CPR, including the use of an AED; Drowning; Breathing difficulties

Session 2: Failure of the circulation : Shock; Blood loss and control of bleeding; Recognition of internal bleeding; Angina and Heart attack:

Session 3: Level of response and AVPU score; Head injury concussion and compression; Immersion, Hypothermia and Hyperthermia; Seasickness and dehydraton; Burns;

Diabetic emergencies; Seizures

Session 4: Fractures including spinal injuries; First aid kits; Advice or assistance by radio; Code red and Evacuation of a casualty by helicopter

You will need

Pack lunch and drinks

Medium size teddy bear if you have one! (size of an infant)

Face covering.
