Whether you are a looking for new family experience or some relaxation from a busy job then sailing/ windsurfing and open water swimming is a brilliant way to spend some quality time.

At Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club, we have the best sailing area in the country a reservoir 3 miles long surrounded by stunning scenery. The countryside around is great for walks or bike rides and route are available for you to try. In the grounds we have the boat park where you can store your boats all year round, loads of car parking space and grassy areas for the children to play football etc.

The Club House offers mens' and ladies' changing facilities and showers. Upstairs houses seating overlooking the magnificent views of the reservoir, so you can watch the sailing and windsurfing in comfort. There is also a bar which is manned by volunteers and a galley serving home-cooked food whenever the club is open Sunday lunch being a specialty!

There are Sailing Courses organised throughout the season for adults and separate courses for with the focus being on having fun on the water. Wednesday evenings and on Sundays there is racing for the various fleets and handicap racing is available on Saturday afternoons. Click on fleets link to see more information about what boats are sailed. It is not essential to buy a boat since there are frequent opportunities to crew. This is is an excellent way to enhance the learning experience and to get to know other members. See Crews needed to Race

We are an RYA OnBoard.

Training for windsurfing has been re-established and last year proved to be very exciting and successful with many people coming along for sessions and becoming "hooked". In the first instances all the kit is provided in the lessons with information being available about what boards/rigs to buy and what clothing etc is needed if you wish to progress. On Sunday afternoons we run a Team 15 club for youngsters 7 - under 16.

We have a growing fleet of windsurfers of all abilities from beginners to blasters! There are plans to have some windsurf racing next season mainly for the beginners at first but who knows it may become a feature if we get the interest.

We have a vibrant Open Water Swimming group, with sessions on Wednesday evening, Saturday and Sunday Mornings. Come along and enjoy swimming in one of the most stunning settings in the North East of England. The swimming area is suitable for all standards, ages and abilities, whether you are a new starter, or a seasoned triathlete Derwent will meet your needs.

Your partners or friends may like to come along with you as a social member ie non-sailing and enjoy the peace and tranquility we offer and perhaps a drink at the bar! We have regular social events: quizzes, discos, bands etc where members and friends and family can some along and enjoy an evening. Whatever your requirements it's worth a visit to find out more.

Hope to seeing you soon it could change your life!
