Kayaking

The deep, calm water of Derwent Reservoir and the stunning panoramic views make it perfect for kayaking. Off the water members and non-members can take advantage of the changing rooms, compressed air, hot showers, hot drinks and hot food to make a day of it. For families and more nervous kayakers the Reservoir has excellent paddling within sight of the shore and three-season safety boat coverage on Wednesday evenings, weekends and most bank holidays.. At the other end of the spectrum, members wishing to push themselves can take to the water with the super-friendly Northern SUP Race Team on a Sunday for a challenging but inclusive race training session.

If you want to paddle outside of the safety cover hours we have a WhatsApp group to arrange buddy paddling amongst paddle sports.
