Perfect Bank Holiday sailing conditions. Ann and Roger crowned Derwent champions

The Bank Holiday regatta was combined with the laser grand prix with starts for the lasers and thena handicap start. Howard set us a sausage triangle course with perfect wind. On Sunday the fleets combined. In race 1 the front of the fleet went looking for a windward mark near the dam, missing the obvious windward mark on the way! Race 2 The lasers were a bit pushy on the line resulting in several disqualifications under the black flag! In the afternoon 17 boats chased down the mirrors in the pursuit race which took us on a scenic tour of the reservoir. Overall winner of the Bank holiday regatta in a GP14 were Ann Penny and Roger Tyrell and Helen Armstrong. Winner of afternoon pursuit race and second overall Oscar Shilling. A great weekend of racing at DRSC with the laser Grand Prix and Derwent regatta. 38 boats out racing over the weekend. Thanks to all the volunteer race team who made it happen.
