The RYA have offered us an amazing opportunity to help develop the club

They will send in one of their top coaches to deliver a 3-4 hour session to 6-10 people called Discover Coaching

Are you keen to pass on your sailing passion?
Are you wanting to develop your skills in coaching?
Are you keen to understand how to develop your club sailors and encourage more into club activities?
Definition of coaching "The art of facilitating the performance, learning and development of another" (Downey, 2003)
Discover Coaching
"This is a fantastic opportunity to receive some free training, pick up some new skills as well as to work with a range of different people." Martin Hughes Training Principal WSC.
Eligibility :There are no pre entry requirements, however, if you are interested in coaching and supporting your club activities a RYA first aid certificate and Powerboat level 2 certificate would be an advantage.

The RYA Coaching Development Team believe that coaching plays a critical role in any healthy and vibrant club or Class Association. There are many spaces in clubs and Class Associations for great coaching and it is not just for the benefit of racing sailors. Coaching compliments any situation where people want to learn and have fun on the water. As a team we would like to work with you to create a great programme in you club or Class Association.

Discover coaching is a fresh initiative through which we work with volunteers and coaches to create, maintain and enhance effective learning environments for dinghy, windsurf and keelboat sailors. Time will be spent in the classroom and on the water (subject to weather). The course will be run by qualified coaches with extensive experience in training other coaches developing their coaching skills from Olympic to beginner levels.

If you are interested please contact me ASAP as this hopefully will happen very quickly davidandvictoria@talktalk.net
