Adult Improvers Sessions

3 x 2 Hour sessions continuing to work through the RYA Adult Sailing Scheme Syllabus

Who: Adults

Prerequisites: RYA Level 1

Dates: Sundays 8th May, 15th May and 29th May (rain or shine)

Time: 14:45 - 16:45

Cost:

Members: £12 per session

Non Members: £25 per session

If you subsequently decide to join a discount is available.

What to expect:

These two hour sessions aim to build on the skills from the Level 1 course.

Time will be spent on land and on the water, adapting to suit the conditions of the day, with both theory and practice.

Sailors will continue to work towards RYA Adult Sailing Scheme Certification.

The groups will be organised at a ratio of one instructor / assistant instructor to six sailors.

We may sail an assortment of dinghies and the coaches may be in a power boat alongside the sailing boats and sailors may take it in turns to swap in and out of boats.

Sailors will need the following equipment:

• Wetsuit or dry suit (We do have some wetsuits available to use)
• Wetsuit boots or old trainers that can get wet (We do have some wetsuit boots available to use)
• Sun cream
• Hat, either to keep you warm or to keep the sun off
• Waterproof clothing to change into as theory may be outside in the weather

Boats and bouyancy aids will/can be provided. (Note: sometimes second hand kit is available on the club website 'For Sale' pages.)

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your selected session so you are ready to go on the water when the session starts.

Sailors will need to help rig / de-rig boats before and after their session. This is part of the RYA Syllabus.
