Event: IOCA North Late Summers Championships
The North Optimist Late Summer's Championships is at Derwent in 2 weeks time on 31st August -1st September With a focus on fun and development. It promises to be a good first event as well as attracting northern and Scottish Optimist sailors. Saturday we have Dave Shilling leading coaching interspaced with racing followed by racing Sunday. The race official will be Imogen Gibb supported by older northern junior/youth sailors as part of their development.
The Championship Fleet is suitable for Oppy sailors with any experience of club racing up to those sailing at national/ international level. For the Championship fleet, there will be training on Saturday morning with racing that afternoon and on Sunday. For the less experienced, there will be coach support during racing.
Coached Fleet is suitable for those sailors who are able to sail a triangle. This group will be looking to have fun on water with lots of support and improve their skills.(free to members)
Non Iocal members can let me know if you're interested. Three is s small charge to cover insurance etc.
