Essential companions
Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club invites members to bring Essential Companions with them to the Club when and where they need, and where access would not be possible without them.
The Essential Companion is expected to attend to the needs of the Scheme Member at all times when they are on the premises.
The Essential Companion might be an identified Carer.
An Essential Companion agreement will be issued to the Club Member, not the Companion.
An individual can bring more than one Essential Companion if needed.
Essential Companions do not need to pay to attend the Club and will be considered as members (for insurance purposes) when they are with the Club Member. If the Essential Companion wishes to use Club Facilities on their own behalf, they are welcome to join as members themselves.
To join the Essential Companion Scheme:
- Please could the Club Member, or their representative, fill in our form before or on arrival at the club.
- Contact details will be those of the Club Member not the Essential Companion.
- Details of the Essential Companion will be taken on arrival.
We will only use this information for the reasons above and also so that we can understand what we need to do to make things work better for people coming to the club.
