Open Water Swimming
Open Water Swimming at Derwent Reservoir
Swimming starts on Sunday 19th May. 10.00 - 12.00
Please go to "Book online" then select "Other" to find events. Select the date you want to swim, and book it! Easy.
Please bring a pound, to pay for your membership card, which we will use to tally who is in and out of the water.
We have kept the cost the same as last year at £5, but if you book less than 24 hours before the swim there is a late entry fee, total £6.
Please note we will not be taking cash payment on the night.
If you are a volunteer for a session, you do not need to book. Members of DRSC DO need to book, but the system allows you to book a free member swim.
This activity is operated as part of the Sailing Club, and run by volunteers. All proceeds are used to pay for the running costs (insurance, safety equipment etc.) or reinvested in the club.
Swims are Wednesday 6pm - 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am - noon, and only when the water temperature is above 10 degrees C.
You must EITHER wear a Wetsuit OR, if you're swimming in just your cossie, you must use a tow-float. A bright swim hat is compulsory for everyone.
£5 per swim or join as a swimming member for £80 per year. Full club membership entitles you also to sail, windsurf, paddleboard, Kayak or canoe.
The swims rely on volunteers for registration, tallying swimmers in and out of the water and safety kayaking. Please help if you can, there's a free swim in it for you.
